A significant improvement over the last outing. The opening act is very entertaining and sets a grand stage, it definitely loses me more as it goes on but overall I still very much enjoyed it.
Unfortunately I didn’t love this one, found the story to be a bit uninteresting and tiring but it makes up for it with some really incredible action scenes. I mean the final sequence is fantastic, but so much of this I just was bored. I say this too often but maybe i’ll like it more on rewatch.
Much more solid than Pixar’s other outing this year, definitely has more emotional value. It’s well animated and looks gorgeous for sure. I’d love to just watch the New York scenery that’s been created. While I never really loved jazz, after watching La La Land earlier this year, I found a new appreciation for it which I never had before. So watching this life of a teacher finally getting his break was really great and engaging.
Then he fell.
I thought from the trailer…
