    Before Sunrise

Anyone who takes public transport regularly, has crossed paths or glanced at a certain person that you feel like you should go over and talk to but you just sit there and, for some reason, plan out your life with them and then realise you’ll never see them again once you come to a stop. Before Sunrise captures that feeling perfectly. It brings to life those dreams you have when you are in that limbo period of listening to your…

What a beautiful film. This is my second film by Edward Yang and his work has well and truly blown me away. It's so hard to put into words the feeling you have after watching something by him. I've only ever seen a few other people be so detailed in their writing and directing when it comes to human characteristics and mannerisms. It felt so natural. It goes so in-depth with every character and it follows so many storylines that…

This is so mad yet constructed so incredibly well. It's kind of blown me away to be honest. The editing is absolutely amazing and the idea is just straight-up bonkers but it all works perfectly.

Damn this was good. I was expecting a full blown comedy but my god did some of those scenes hit me hard. A lot of it was genuinely sad and it got pretty emotional for me. I think Jim Cummings is gonna become a really good filmmaker, he seems like he knows what he’s doing already. The direction is so clear and the writing is superb. It was scenes like the opening sequence where he had that long, one take, monologue that just floored me. Brilliant filmmaking throughout.

    oh. my. god.

    What? Just? Happened?

First of all, the performances were easily some of the best of 2019 and the fact that it was only nominated for one category genuinely pisses me off.
Willem Dafoe is a nut case and Robert Pattinson is still surprising me after every film I see him in.

The cinematography was amazing. I kept on getting Wes Anderson vibes in some of the shots (which isn’t a bad thing at all). The framing was perfect and the mad screenplay couldn’t have been better.

Go watch this now if you haven’t already!

No film has the right to have a soundtrack like this... Tears for Fears, Echo & the Bunnymen, Joy Division and Duran Duran... Like hello?!?!
