i watched this for the first time around a year ago, it is still incredibly moving and a very well put together documentary.

I cannot speak on the experience explored but it seems more genuine than other explorations of race and civil rights in america i’ve seen.

now a year later i’ve actually taken time and engaged with some of Baldwin’s literary works and i have one gripe with this film, it almost completely neglects his homosexuality and how that impacted him and his engagement on civil rights.

it’s still a must watch and one of my favourite pieces of media but it slightly misses now.

    Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

simultaneously one of the worst but most fun movies i have seen.

watching this with my dad who studied civil war history at uni was fun. i love when they declared war on the south to kill the evil vampires.

    please watch this

Boy do I love a movie that makes me think!!!
Amazing acting from both Robert Pattison and John David Washington, the script was tight and the concept was so so cool.

    Very much would recommend.

I mean enjoyed the film a lot but I had some problems with it,,

As much as Tom Cruz plays a loveable character it very much comes off as the white saviour trope.
It feels at times that they portray traditional Japanese culture as inferior and backwards.

Besides that I thought it was quite beautiful and the insights and conversations held by some of the characters are very enjoyable
