I've said it once and I'll say it again, Tom Holland nails the Spider-Man character, he brings youth and vulnerability and fun to it. HOWEVER, the plot of these movies feel just not quite right. It feels almost Disney channel-y in a way? Like the grittiness isn't really there and there's not sad parts in this movie. Another thing that really bothers me is how the "bully" is literally someone who would be bullied irl. Peter is a shredded, attractive guy who isn't exactly painted as the awkward intelligent nerd. He's got conveniently quirky moments and he's technically in this sciency school but it doesn't sell it for me. He's honestly quite dumb most of the time. I just wish they had kept more of the Spider-Man's essence in writing the character and the plot, but other wise, Tom Holland's acting is pretty lit and the cast of characters work well together.
