I can sort of see why so many cinephiles love this movie and why it spawned the career of one of the most obnoxious, pretentious and downright untalented directors. The inherent problem with this particular movie for me is that it's way too ambitious for its own good. The dialogue is painstakingly calculated and not one single person can deliver it naturally.
