Minari ★★★★

I got to see this at the virtual Hamptons international film festival and was excited to see Minari. I had high expectations which unfortunately were not met but that does not mean the movie is bad. It is beautifully made and well crafted, with strong performances all around and cinematography that exceeded my expectations. Minari did have a pacing issue that I felt during the middle of the movie but the beginning is cute to watch and its fun to see the house dynamic and how their modern ideals clashed with their Korean traditions but like I said, the middle part of the movie was lacking while the end was exceptional and heartbreaking. Minari was an amazing film that while it had it’s faults, it was still an amazing film that deserves it’s praise and has a lot to tell about modern ideologies clashing with religious and/or foreign traditions.
