Laurie Strode’s review published on Letterboxd:
Double Bill #1
TGBH isn’t Anderson’s best. I think the simpler he can keep his stories, the better off he is. The fun in his films comes from his zany sets, whimsical music, hip dialogue, and attention to detail. So while this film has all of that throughout and more, I much prefer his films where I don’t need to pay that much attention. THAT SAID, what can I really fucking complain about, it’s a great film. Perhaps his best looking film, and certainly his most violent. Pretty sweet to see Anderson this unhinged.
And to think, we got a Wes Anderson movie approaching, hopefully sooner rather than later.
