Noah Smith’s review published on Letterboxd:
There’s a pretty good movie here, but it’s trapped by a terrible first half. Like legitimately bad. The Tyler character is incredibly unlikable, as are most of the characters. All except Emily and Luke. While the second half still has its indulgent moments, it is far more felt and engaging than the rest of the movie.
Speaking of indulgence; fuck aspect ratio switches. When it switched to 4:3 I wanted to walk out. Soundtrack’s is also not as good as I hoped. It’s great to here some AnCol and Tame Impala in a movie, but boy does Trey want you to know that he knows some music. It’s not genuine. It’s pretentious and I hate that word
