The best Spike Lee joint since 25th Hour.
Powerful imagery, dedicated storyline, and always a strong message. In other words, the best Spike Lee has done in a while, and just what his audience was hoping for.
Was David Duke the role Topher Grace was born to play? Hey, why not.
The implicit and then not-so-implicit allusions to the Trump presidency (see the quote above) are perfect touches, almost too easy to work into the film. And then the coup-de-grace, the footage before the credits of Charlottesville (RIP Heather Heyer)... well my theatre was pin-drop quiet at that moment.
