    The Serpent

This must be one of the worst scripted and directed things I have ever seen on Netflix.
Awful casting - worse Dialog - and occasionally reminded me of a kiwi saying “Yankee Zepherism” - based on a kiwi flick where all the Dialog in that show was was on the back of peoples heads. You get the idea?
It gets a star for the smoking and sunglasses.

    My Darling Vivian

    ★★★½

Wow - 4 sisters talk about their mum.
When that mum is Johnny Cash’s first wife and oldest daughter Rosanne gets to reminisce - I am locked in. It almost plays like a podcast - but with a lot of support from archive footage and info. Rosanne almost talks as if summoning up lyrics to a song - and indeed does quote from one of my favourites.
Sad life and one I knew little of, so worthy o say the least.

Johnny’s love letter tape to Vivian is wonderful.

    Incredibles style in disguise?
Much more enjoyable than I expected.
    Sharp, funny and slick.

See it for sound and you won’t be disappointed - Randy Thom is a master.

Careful - it’s not what the poster suggests.... but if you can don’t read about it before you see it - it floored me. It’ll be one for the ages.

Spectacular piece of writing, performance and Anthony Hopkins. Startling even.
