Stanley Scorsese’s review published on Letterboxd:
Got together with my wife and my parents and finally showed them Promising Young Woman. It was on demand, but it was being charged for $20. $20, for Christ’s sakes! I had no idea because I believed it was going to be $5 like any movie on demand. But since it was technically still in theaters, I could see why it was almost the same price as a ticket. Still, we had an awesome time watching it! I was mostly surprised my dad stayed during the whole movie, usually he’d leave and go to bed since it was late and he had to get up for work. When it comes out on Blu-ray and DVD, I will surely look for it. Or I will just wait for the price to go down and buy it cheap later on this year.
Although I doubt she will win, Carey Mulligan will get a lot of nominations from the Oscars, the Golden Globes, the BAFTAs, and the SAGs. She will most likely lose to Frances McDormand from Nomadland. Mulligan deserves it more than McDormand. She’s won 2 Oscars and I think she’s better off with those 2 instead of 3. This should be Mulligan’s time to win it! But that’s just one person’s opinion. Tell me what you think of who should win Best Actress, or tell me what movies you predict are of winning their categories at the Oscars whether it would be Nomadland, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Mank, or whatever film you think or believe. I love to hear your thoughts!
