Tom dePerto’s review published on Letterboxd:
I just remember walking down a theater corridor earlier this year and hearing Travis Scott blurt out SKRTT SKRTT from one of the auditoriums, and it felt so fucking weird yet so right at the same time.
Nevertheless, this plays well at home. Still suffers from all of the problems that I encountered on my first viewing, namely its emotional void and two-dimensional characters... but it's undeniably cool to see a $200M movie with a concept this bonkers. Too cool. I still think both the plot and concept are fairly simple, but my mind almost struggles to function when I try to piece it together WHILE it is happening on screen. Honestly, I think Nolan overcomplicates it.
My mom just said "I won't even try to understand it because it makes my head hurt, I just like seeing all that cowboy shit".
