An extremely creative concept for an action film with some excellent set pieces. However compared with Inception, a similarly creative conceptual film, it has noticeably less compelling characters and storylines. Now many other action films such as: Mad Max Fury Road and Mission Impossible Fallout get away with this because of their extraordinary set pieces. Now while the action set pieces of this film are incredible, they don’t carry the film in the same way they do for those other films.
This review may sound overly critical but this is only because Nolan is a remarkable director meaning the positives are self explanatory.
