Tim Brayton’s review published on Letterboxd:
Narrative and aesthetic gibberish. I couldn't figure out what the hell the style was doing in the first part, and was sort of riding it out trying to figure out the film's vibe; I still couldn't figure out what the hell the style was doing in the middle, and by that point the screenplay had shit its pants so hard that I stopped caring. The last part is basically functional, but not in an interesting or unique way, and anyway, it's a grotesque fit with everything that has gone before. Extremely conspicuously doesn't have anything to say about race.
It is, to be sure, nice for an American movie in 2019 - an indie no less! - to have aggressively saturated colors.
