Unfocused, but this introduced me to Michela De Rossi so I can’t say it’s all bad.

  • Malignant

Well made horror schlock, and I mean that in the best way. Is the movie good? Bad? Yes. Giving this a star rating would diminish the film. Clever use of camera work, beautiful lighting, a delicate balance between humor and horror; this movie is so much fun.

    Squid Game

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

A high concept show that is fun and exciting if not entirely original, but excellent character work and production design keeps it engaging. It works best when the drama of the game and contestants are center focus while keeping the broader implications of the game up to audience interpretation.

Unfortunately, the more the show explains the less interesting it becomes with the worst episodes coming with the arrival of the VIPs. The Eyes Wide Shut clientele who partake in the…

Seriously though, the extended highway action sequence is still exhilarating. Unfortunately, the move is a victim of too much freedom, allowing the Wachowski Sisters to overindulge in action sequences which, while fun, cause the film to lose track of it’s emotional through line.

The film is only two minutes longer than The Matrix, but feels like it has thirty minutes of buffering which is probably the worst thing I can say about it.

    Hello, Peter.

Excellent cast, exciting action, emotional depth. This movie really has it all. A summer action blockbuster with a heart at the core that is rarely seen before or after. Truly a wonderful use of the character. I just like this movie, not sure what else to say.
