I loved exploring the sci-fi premise and seeing where the story went. And I appreciated that it tried to have some deeper character moments, even if they didn't always seem to share a cohesive thematic center. Looked and sounded great, had some bold directing choices that I appreciated, and Anthony Mackie was very good. The ending was nice but it ultimately made the film feel a little familiar where otherwise it was pretty original.
Gosh this one is a little emotionally exhausting and bleak for my taste. But it’s tense, well directed, and has a great lead performance. Paints a portrait of this event where everyone involved is obeying commands from some higher-up, and the tragedy becomes the lack of conscience and personal moral obligation.
