Super depressing concept. Obviously parallels Vertigo but I totally forgot I'd heard that comparison until I realized it myself. I think that Transit is still my favorite of what I've seen of Petzold's work, but this was intriguing and haunting in its own way (with a great performance from Hoss). Probably the most painful experience of my movie-watching life. I don't exaggerate when I say that I spent a good majority of this with my eyes wide, my jaw hanging down, and my face contorted into a puzzled expression, in genuine awe of how horrendous and dull this is.
