    The Babysitter

Samara Weaving just makes everything better. β™₯️

  • The Gate

    The Gate

Everything about this movie screams Goosebumps to the max!

Also, never have the 80s been more in your face. From the neon colored clothes, the spiked up bangs held with a pound of hair gel, playing a record backwards to find a hidden message, trying to levitate people at your slumber party, and just about everything else.

Ohh and those little creatures are creepy, yes. But more cute than anything. I want one!

Forgot to watch this one at Christmas time. So I'm sneaking it in now, while there's still like 5 feet of snow outside ❄️

  • Ready or Not

    Ready or Not

Still manages to hold up as one of my all time favorite, modern horror films β™₯️

    See my previous reviews ✌🏻

  • Sleepwalkers

The music score is perfection (I dies at sleepwalk by Santo & Johnny and Boadicea by Enya)!! 😍 The cast is adorable and extremely likeable (Madchen Amick is was such a babe and the ultimate 90s girl next door!) The incestuous mother/son romance is very Psycho-esque and I adore it -- yet shudder at the thought. The small sleepy town backdrop, with the old graveyard is one of my absolute favorite settings for a film. So many great horror legend cameos. And all the kitty cats are an added bonus. 🀍

  • Fright Night

    Fright Night

The scene with Jerry and Amy in front of the fireplace, just oozes sex. The erotic music playing, Chris Sarandon taking his shirt off and kneeling in front of Amy, passionately kissing her and then passionately biting her 🩸 swoon

Just one of the many things I adore about this movie. My favorite vampire flick and just a top favorite in general.

A true classic that never gets old.

  • The House of the Devil

    The House of the Devil

    This one just OOZES atmosphere.

The slow burn dread / satan worshipping, just encapsulates that early 80s feel, perfectly! I don't mind one bit that it takes its sweet time, chewing up the scenery and giving us time to be invested in our final girl, before it all leads into cult chaos

    You're Next

We need more movies like this, in 2022

  • Chopping Mall

    Chopping Mall

I'm glad they decided to go with killer robots, instead of your average mall slasher. It makes for a much more interesting, quirky and fun movie!

Barbara Crampton and Kelli Maroney are one of my favorite 80s bff duos. β™₯️

  • The Initiation

    The Initiation

The 80s sure loved their "twin twist"

Makes for a great double feature with Chopping Mall. Also has House On Sorority Row vibes going on.

  • The House on Sorority Row

    The House on Sorority Row

As much as I enjoy House On Sorority Row, I don't seem to be as high on it as everyone else is. It feels like your typical 80s slasher to me and nothing really sets it apart or makes it stand out.

The "twist" reveal ending, is as obvious as they come. The kills are mediocre. But there is a sort of high-production value quality, that makes everything seem like an A-tier slasher.

I would best compare this to the likes of Happy Birthday To Me or The Initiation

  • Blood Rage

    Blood Rage

Blood Rage has quirky, fun characters. One liners that never get old (that's not cranberry sauce)! Synthy scores that give me life. Over the top kills and a bonkers WTF ending.

The 80s are my jam β™₯️
