I think watching the dubbed dampened the experience a bit but that's all what was available for me. Anyways, I hate war. Pride is dangerous. What made this movie so good was that it was so real. Although it's a story about Setsuko and Seita, for me it was just a slice of the horrible experiences everyone experienced, making the movie a lot more heartbreaking. I enjoyed seeing the movie break the rules of "a happy ending." War is sad. Death is sad. A problem I had was how the ending felt rushed to me. Felt like something was missing.
