I thought this was supposed to be a children's movie! My god!
Edit: I'm giving this movie 4 stars because fuck it! It's that enjoyable! There's no fucking way this movie could ever be made today
A new candidate for one of my favorite Westerns. John Ford deconstructs the legend of the wild west that he himself made so popular just a few decades earlier. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance is still to this day one of (if not the greatest) example of the classic era of the Hollywood western film. Completely paving the way for Sergio Leone and others to come along and put their own spin on these legendary stories. It's no wonder this is Leone's favorite Ford movie, he used Lee Van Cleef and Woody Strode in two of his most famous contribution to cinema
