This film is a prime example of absolutely sticking to the formula but doing it very competently. If all you want is to see a middle-aged former badass who's now just trying to lead a normal family life turn badass again and beat up and kill a bunch of people, you could do a lot worse for sure. There's not much else to be said about it really.
For a movie with such a human subject matter, it simply has too little humanity. The emotional scenes that are supposed to convey how the characters are relating to each other mostly fall flat or even veer into absurd territory. Mamaw basically gives the whole thing away when she says that everyone is a good Terminator, a bad Terminator, or neutal. That's what all the characters in this failure of a film feel like - robotic and neutral.
