    Mr. Bachmann and His Class

If this would have lasted ten hours and I would've had a proper cinema seat, I might have endured the whole thing without getting bored. You really get to know these kids and their teacher, and that is what 215 min. can do where 120 would have been 'normal'. Speth's Wiseman-esque style and the subject of education and personal progress go hand in hand really well.

    Bitter Moon

This movie's anti-Titanic. The boat doesn't sink and all references to (true) love turn out to be deceiving illusions. I absolutely loved it.

    Green Book

Green Book reinforces the painful myth that it is mainly ignorance that perpetuates racism.

Ali's role gets a sour taste once it becomes clear that his eclectic snobism only serves to strengthen the film's lingering white saviour-complex.

Feelgood-cinema for, probably, people like me - and I do not feel like I should deserve that in the context of a theme so loaded & still very alive.
An Oscar for passivity and short-sightedness.
