No idea what the hell this review section is on about, because Mortal Kombat is easily the best video game adaptation I've ever seen. You don't necessarily have to be a fan of the franchise to have a good experience, but going in expecting the worst will always set you up for a bad time. The action sequences were so fucking good, and they did NOT hold out on the gore; seeing those fatal blows and fatalities were a treat. Lewis Tan was the perfect lead for this, and it was interesting to see how he'd blend in with others from the source material. This was a major step up from the 90s duology, and this roster of fighters (especially Liu Kang & Kung Lao) were introduced alongside some flawless pacing and excitingly cheesy special effects. Mileena was perfect, too.
I hope they go ahead with the sequels and build on from this.
