Steven Hyden’s review published on Letterboxd:
The strangest film I've seen in a long time, with maybe the worst cop-out ending. The premise seems like a reverse-gender High Fidelity 20 years before High Fidelity. Only Talia Shire's character clearly is mentally disturbed and possibly a sociopath. The sequences with John Belushi (who's great as a huge creep) and Keith Carradine are riveting but they belong in a different movie. Or maybe the ending of this movie belongs in a different movie. Anyway this seems like it was supposed to be a disturbing character study about a troubled person but it was twisted into a more conventional sorta rom-com. I was baffled at the end but the performances and the odd misfire of it all make it fascinating.
