Late to this whole Letterbox thing. Gonna be a bunch of rewatches. Just using this to keep better track of all the movies I consume.

This was such a fun time. This met and exceeded my expectations. So glad I was able to see this (early and) on a big screen. Snyder has some great direction here and I was surprised he did the cinematography as well. It was all so good. The ensemble cast isn’t loaded with big names but my god are they fun to be with. Hardwick and Schweighöfer have a great tag team aspect here and I loved it. Ella Purnell…
Thankfully didn’t go to the theaters to see this. If this had the “HBO Max Original” I would be ok with that. This is just middle of the road. Nothing really sticks out. If you had a good time watching that’s great but it missed the mark for me. I wouldn’t even say that this is bland. But I can’t find or think of one thing to praise.
I really enjoyed this. Not too deep but there is something there. Bill Murray is oozing charm off the screen and its delightful. Rashida Jones is perfect in this role. I’m kind of forgetting why she doesn’t get more work. It’s a nice little change of pace, check it out if you’re curious.
Very much a guilty pleasure when I was younger but now with a “different set of eyes” I see how bad this movie. Bad execution. Not enough money in the budget causing bad CGI scattered throughout the film. It’s still a very good idea. Also never realized this was based on a book. The script also sets up things that are barley touched upon or all that fleshed out on in the end.
