Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives

I do not mind slow films. Most of these films put me in a hypnotized state which usually enhances my experience with the film. This is a weird one, I barely remember anything from this and upon rewatching most of the scenes I'm not sure if there's anything worthy remembering. There's monkey ghosts and fish sex and the ending aaand that's about everything I could comprehend. Mumbo jumbo with folklore. A unique experience for sure.

There is no such thing as a coincidence.

  • Bo Burnham: Inside

    Bo Burnham: Inside

The humour was a little awkward at times, but i expected it to be much, much more cringe. He's got a talent for music and entertainment that's for sure. The parts about his mental health felt sincere and i genuinely felt bad for him. A pleasant surprise overall. He's hot!

  • Inside

I’m surprised this is not as talked about as Martyrs. It DOES get pretty dumb, but then the violence and the story gets really over the top too and it kind of works somehow? The editing and the ear rape music was just great too. Had a lot more potential, but hey at least we got one of the most insane films of all time. French people need help.

  • The Box

    The Box

I have a special place in my heart for this, because it’s the first “weird” film that i saw when i was a kid and it had a lot of impact on my taste. I can say that it holds up quite well. Both dilemmas are interesting to say the least and i loved both Cameron Diaz and James Marsden in it. I hope Richard Kelly will be back to directing soon, can’t wait to see more from him.

The last five minutes >>> the rest of the movie.

  • The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence)

The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence)

Had it not been for the rape scene, i actually would have given it a positive score. It's surprisingly well shot, even funnier than the first one and the idea of the movie (a character becomes a huge fan of the first Human Centipede and wants to bring it to life) felt so masturbarory like a Lars von Trier film. An arthouse horror parody, that kind of works, but maybe is too much.

''She knows your testicles are filled with the tears of God.''

    Pretty insane, pretty boring.

  • Angst

The thought that my pet would befriend my murderer is giving me anxiety...

  • Event Horizon

    Event Horizon

Such a 50/50 split for me, some scenes had me in awe some had me rolling my eyes. I think people more so appreciate the idea behind it, then the overall execution.

    David Lynch could never.
