Nat’s review published on Letterboxd:
I really wanted to like this but it wasn't for me. The location was great and the period setting and attitudes were spot on, I can almost hear my female relatives telling me "that's exactly how it was".
Sadly most of the scares are really tired, though one moment in particular does stand out. The dialogue is awful and heavy handed, making sure any chance of ambiguity is removed. What might have worked wonderfully as subtext instead bludgeons you with its message and turns fantastical entertainment into a reminder of harrowing reality.
