Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame ★★★★★

Avengers: Endgame is an epic conclusion to one of the best movie franchises in the history of cinema. The central theme is second chances. You may have failed once, but never give up. Use your failure to create an even better success.

I told myself I wouldn't cry this time around because I was going to be watching it with a friend - and I was not about to let him see me all messy with tears. As expected, my brilliant plan backfired and I cried like a baby (again) which prompted said friend to ask, "I thought you weren't going to cry as much this time?" and I replied with, "yeah me neither but here we are". I know I have already talked about the music in my previous review but I want to bring up the song Main on End. It's the credit song right after the film ends and it's a perfect summation of the music themes throughout the film. The first half of Main on End is basically a rearranged Portals (aka one of the greatest moments in cinematic history), which is fitting as the film is one huge tribute to the all-star cast of the franchise, mirroring the one big scene in the film. The last third stands out for its dedication to the big six, who started and carried the franchise all along, with a rearranged Avengers' theme. Endgame will not be the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but with this piece, it serves as a great sendoff for them.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe will never be the same. Yes, there are new movies, yes, life within the movies still goes on, but to me, nothing will ever be better than what has happened in 2008-2019. We as a society lost a piece of our childhoods and hearts, but we lost it together, just like Captain America said we would. The world has changed, and none of us can go back (unless we got some spare Pym Particles). All we can do is our best, and sometimes the best that we can do is to start over. Cap told us that everyone should move on and grow. Some do, but true Marvel fans never will, and I know I never will (no matter how many times Siegel nags me to join the dark side). I just consider myself blessed to have been alive to witness the creation of such a beautiful and resounding saga, and I can only hope that the future generations of the world will cherish these movies as some of the greatest treasures known to humanity.

P.S. The song Portals changes key 6 TIMES before the main avengers theme starts playing. Could 6 key changes mean 6 infinity stones? I guess we'll never know but that's a cool relation.
