Not the quality of ‘The Sixth Sense’, but it’s cute…
M. Night Shyamalan knows how to engage with his storytelling. It’s a great feat to write, produce, & direct a feature film of this caliber. However, this film just doesn’t deliver much depth, substance, or cohesiveness.
I do feel as if there were way too many bizarre and unrealistic occurrences in this film, added for shock value, which made the story difficult to embrace. Much of the dialogue felt misplaced or inauthentic… but I suppose this was an intense story and you will enjoy it if you focus on the beautiful shots of the beach and embrace the illogical and shallow nature of the film.
