• Fear Street: 1994

    Fear Street: 1994

Couldn’t get past the overacting. The plot actually seemed interesting, but I hated every person every time they showed up on screen so I turned it off after 30 mins.

  • Judas and the Black Messiah

    Judas and the Black Messiah

Daniel Kaluuya and Lakeith Stanfield were amazing, the visuals were really stunning at times, and it was based off of a really captivating true story. The execution was not great, however. It was really weird how they would hyper focus on an unimportant side detail, but then really big, interesting parts of the story were glossed over and I really wanted them to go deeper. This movie was alright because of the cast and the visuals. It was based on…

  • Never Rarely Sometimes Always

    Never Rarely Sometimes Always

You all lied to me. I heard so many good things about this movie and... I just don’t know why? It was super slow. Very little dialogue. The acting felt pretty wooden, but not enough to take you out of it. It was just told through images and felt very on the nose to me. Like a really good student film. I was pretty bored most of the way through, when they got to New York there was some tension…

  • The Perfection

    The Perfection

This movie sat on my Netflix queue for a year. Little did I know the mindfuck that was waiting for me.

  • Fantasy Island

    Fantasy Island

I don’t know if I have PTSD from Lost or what, but Everytime I heard “it’s the island” as an explanation for things I felt physical pain. Still not bad for a shitty horror movie.

  • Spotlight

Really don’t get the hoopla around this film. Sure, It’s a good movie. However, nothing really jumps off the screen at you. It’s a compelling story, but the acting, cinematography and script are pretty bland. It’s like an ok movie you would catch on Netflix one night and never watch again. Not really sure why there’s so much hype around it, I’ve even heard of it referred to as one of the best movies of the 2010’s... almost universal acclaim and I feel like I’m crazy. Decent movie, should’ve been 15 minutes shorter, but nothing to write home about. Check it out, but lower your expectations.

    Predator 2

I’m 25 minutes into this movie and I still haven’t seen a goddamn predator

  • Virtuosity

Picture this, a man emerges from a mound of cocaine on his desk to rant about this newfangled internet thing he found his son using. The person sitting in front of him proceeded  to write a movie about it. Ladies and Gentlemen: Virtuousity. This movie would not have worked without Denzel Washington chasing a young Russell Crowe (portraying “The Internet”)

This movie is actually highly rewatchable and fun. Peak 1990s action, not understanding computers, and also just a reminder that almost anything could get made. Definitely check it out, one of the all time “so bad it’s good” movies I’ve ever seen.

  • I'm Thinking of Ending Things

    I'm Thinking of Ending Things

It really took an awful long time to get to the end. There were things I liked about the movie, but it just drags on and on in spots. I found myself looking at my phone quite a bit and not really feeling like I’d missed anything when I came back. I did like the acting from everyone involved. Also thought it was cool the way the story unfolded (trying not to spoil anything) but it really took way too long.

  • 8:46

This is proof that I can listen to Dave Chapelle talk about anything. Very interesting, although I wouldn’t consider it a standup special as there were very few jokes, it’s more of a man venting on stage to an audience.

  • Da 5 Bloods

    Da 5 Bloods

This movie started out fun and exciting. About an hour in, though, it started to drag for me. The tone and story is very messy. This movie easily could’ve cut 30-45 mins from it just by removing long pauses and unnecessary scenes. Delroy Lindo is FANTASTIC in this movie. He’s always been one of my favorite actors and I’m glad he’s gettin recognition after not doing much for the past few years. I really feel like Spike was trying to…

  • Silent House

    Silent House

Holy shit this movie suuuucks! The acting besides Elizabeth Olson is horrible, especially the dad. Even the one shot gimmick could not save it. Save yourself and don’t watch it. I watched it with my girlfriend and am considering breaking up with her now due to shared trauma.
