Matt Slocum’s review published on Letterboxd:
Guardians of the Galaxy has a weak main villain and an unfocused plot, but it succeeds immensely at its main goal of developing its five titular characters. Chris Pratt is excellent and Bradley Cooper's voice work steals the show as Rocket. The characters are all so rich and colorful that I wasn't bothered by the decided lack of everything else. The film is fun and genuinely funny, and I was impressed with the level of dramatic finesse it displayed in a couple of key emotional moments. It isn't as good as The Winter Soldier for me, but it deserves a spot in the top few of Marvel's films.
