I've been highly highly anticipating this for the entire year, and fucking loved Carey Mulligan, but damn, it never quite gave me the satisfaction I was looking for. Even the ending, which was fucking insane, is one of the least satisfying endings they could have come up with, even though it was trying to be very satisfying. I can't really be more specific without spoilers, but this entire thing just felt a bit more watered down than it should have been. I'm in favour of everything it's saying, but it also just feels like it's constantly teasing you that it's gonna having something more profound to say, or go somewhere crazier, and it always stops short.
