Aside from the fact that the Ten Rings are the 8th shadow collective in this universe and for good measure they made sure to add the "they changed the course of history" line to spite me,

this has to be one of the strongest origin story entries in the genre. It's a miracle that Katy may have singlehandedly been the most clearly defined female character in this universe and I really enjoy the vibe of this one. I kinda checked out as soon as they reached Ta Lo, only because the big CGI battle felt beneath the already strong character work, but a repeat viewing might change that.
