The Grand Budapest Hotel

The Grand Budapest Hotel

I watched this film for the first time earlier this year, and while I liked it, I didn’t understand all the hype. Rewatching it now, I finally understand why so many adore this film, including me now. Something about this movie embodies the coziest feeling, and I felt an immense comfort when watching it.

This is the most Wes Anderson(y) movie to date, as well as his most ambitious project, and it paid off. The amount of cameos in this film is astounding, and the camera work, score, and characters were all lovely. So, ultimately, The Grand Budapest Hotel is an amazing film, and I’m glad that I got myself to rewatch it. I love being wrong about a film and changing my opinion on it as time passes. Maybe this will start happening with all the Anderson films that I’ve been disappointed with.
