“You made me do that”
I don’t think this film is homophobic, nor is its message insinuating that members of the gay community could be exchanged for killers. No, I think this film is very clearly making a statement about the public’s perception of members of the community at the time, and the response to the film proved them right. Brilliant in its subtle movements, as well as its lack thereof (its Friedkin, c’mon). Not sure what else to say really, it’s a masterpiece. The kind of movie that is bound to stick around in my head for a long time.
