The Legend of Tarzan

The Legend of Tarzan ★★★½

Film #48 of my 2019 - Clearing Out My DVD Case Initiative.

I'm not a big fan of Tarzan or Tarzan movies in general. Just never been my thing. HOWEVER... this is a really good one.

It's not the origin story (Thank god! Seen too many of those). It's a story that takes place after Tarzan (aka Lord Greystoke) has come back and become "civilized".

Alexander Skarsgard plays Tarzan and he has to return to the jungle. BUT he gets two really cool companions to come with him. He gets Margot Robbie and Samuel L. Jackson! Sweet! Robbie plays "Jane" and Jackson is a cool dude... as usual.

The bad guy is... Christoph Waltz of course. He does the Waltz thing, as we expect. And we also get the proud warrior nemesis played by Djimon Hounsou. All of these casting choices are pretty obvious... but they all work.

It's a good Tarzan story that is well-acted, well-directed and full of great jungle action/adventure. There ya go.
