Kyle Bruce’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is Emerald Fennell's first feature film and the fact that someone can have such raw talent for filmmaking this early in their career is extremely impressive. Promising Young Woman is not only a well crafted film technically, but it exudes a sassy personality all the while provoking thought and energetically exploring its sensitive themes.
Admittedly, I haven't seen a lot of Carey Mulligan's work, but this feels like it could be a career-defining performance. The supporting cast are also great, including comedian Bo Burnham who I had never heard of (but I loved Eighth Grade). I can't wait to see what Emerald Fennell does next because this was amazing.
