The action is amazing, but I’d much rather just watch the action sequences out of context than sit through the whole movie.

I'm not sure what the thinking behind Damon Wayans' performance, but ... it did not work for me. Unconvincing and mannered from the first line to the last, and it didn't help that his dialogue was never convincing.
Michael Rapaport, frankly, was not much better.

As suspected I bumped this up on rewatch. Too much doesn’t quite work for me to wholly embrace it, but the bullet removal scene, and McAdams’ and Plemons’ performances, are indeed high points.
Basically, really really clever but more clever than funny. YMMV.
(Interesting that the sanitization for inflight presentation was more notable in this than in Infinity War.)
