It has been over two years since I've sat in a theater and even longer since I went to the theater to see a scifi/fantasy film that wasn't a reboot, a sequel, or a YA adaption. I'm happy they still make movies like this.

This one will stay with me for awhile. The visuals, the acting, the writing, and the score made for such an immersive experience that it has been nearly 24 hours later and I've hardly stopped thinking about what I saw.

By the time this movie was over I felt like I knew the full cast of characters. From Goose to Lil Z, they felt like real people and not just characters. TV shows have trouble accomplishing this with a full season of episodes but City of God pulled off in 2.5 hours.

-This was like the McDonalds my mom bought me after I shit allow over her boyfriend Rian's cooking. I was so good at the time but I regretted it within an hour. This single dad of a movie tried so hard not lose it let its kids pick their own Christmas presents. Disney is just lucky it came out the same time as the final season of Game of Thrones, so no one really noticed this dumpster fire burning next to the house fire.
