Had its occasional moments but eh didn’t quite work for me as a whole

Still new to Shyamalan's filmography and I admit that I understand why the dialogue and peculiar delivery may throw off people yet I found the scenes themselves so evocative of emotion that it didn't bother me that much. First off my expectations for this movie were astronomically high. Things I'm interested in include early 20th century Bengal, folktales, Laila-Majnu (2018), the feminist films produced by Clean Slate Films (I haven't seen Phillauri but I love Pari and NH10) and this movie seemed to include all of this so naturally my expectations ballooned up and exited the stratosphere.
