Saputra’s review published on Letterboxd:
"They will call him The Bamboo Ronin. Not only samurai, but the townspeople too will scoff at his wavering. But let them laugh all they want. Who can fathom the depths of another man's heart ?"
It told the false and corrupted Harakiri "story" but also showed us the true act of Harakiri. An interesting way to deliver a story of how hard times and situations driven man mad in order to save his family.
Honor, humiliation, and humanity sewed together well and presented as conflicting narrative.
