Jeanne Dielman, 23, Quai du Commerce 1080 Bruxelles ★★★★★

Jeanne Dielman, 23, Quai du Commerce 1080 Bruxelles is intentionally dense and boring as we follow a middle-aged woman taking care of her house and her teenage son repeating a daily routine, but none of her actions are lifeless, instead, they are very much filled with sense and importance, repressed emotions and cultural implications. Delphine Seyrig is the perfect actress for that portrayal, her eyes are always communicating and feeling something, giving one of the best and most intricate performances of all time.

Chantal Akerman produces an experience everyone should get into, even if it's exhausting, not only for its significant relevance and its revolutionary value in its context and content, but also because it's a cinematic treasure that is masterfully crafted and immensely rewarding.
