Big fan of the Eric Andre show. Where it and Andre shine is the idea of complete absurdity and characters that require no basis in reality. Where Bad trip fails is that it revolves around a ordinary joe character. It gives no freedom for Andre to do his usual bizarre humour. It's too based in this boring reality. It's absurdism not coming from Andre having strange ideas but simply one guy being slightly weird and getting into stupid situations. The…

    Fifty Shades of Grey

A movie where two people have the exact same conversation 50 times and nothing ever gets resolved. It's like watching a 2 hour first act. Nothing happens, it achieves nothing. Only fun I had was the scene by scene comparisons to Twilight I was doing in my head and a woman being surprised that her partner was into BDSM after him telling her he was into BDSM, discussing a contract between the two of them explicitly about BDSM and also participating in acts in BDSM. It was dumb, simply dumb.

Great craftmanship of filmmaking. Story set up well and touches on many themes. The creativity of shots and their composition is theatrical but very efficient at telling the audience a great deal visually. Majority of the SFX hold up and it gives a great feeling of unnerving chaos throughout. Also includes a shark. pretty cool.

A beautiful and stylised film which has such an impressive attention to detail. The voice acting is fantastic and suits each character perfectly. The animation and world is so unique and rich. The writing is also great and while there are lots of comedic elements and action scenes the film has mature topics and uses great symbolism. It doesn't talk down to it's audience despite a lot of them being children. The meta references it makes to the western genre and mysticism are fantastic and it's such a rewarding watch.
