Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ★★★½

Ultimate edition

Most of what the ultimate edition does is add exposition, like Supermans motives behind disliking Batman and Luthors plan. I would say most of it is probably necessary to explaining the film but I was always a big fan of the first 1.5 hours of the film regardless. The last hour is where I had my issues with the film (the endless Justice League plugging, Doomsday being a generic villain, the tonal shift that seemed to make no sense)

And the ultimate edition doesn't really fix that, however I would say the overall film feels more spaced out to where it becomes easier to stomach the need of all the Justice League set ups (besides the god awful email scene). I respect the ambition and talent behind it and the fact that this feels like someones vision rather than a product. Its just a shame that certain arcs just feel tacked on rather than something that builds off on the central story.
