Richmond_Hill’s review published on Letterboxd:
An uncluttered view of history concerning ‘Julie’ Caesar and “That Bird who runs Egypt”. If you’re ever in need for a mild haven from straightening political correctness turn to a peak-period Carry On, of which this is towards the beginning of that purple patch.
With leftover sets from that other Bird who ran Egypt (a.k.a. Elizabeth Taylor and the abortive attempt to film that version in Pinewood Studios) this film looks a treat with a script that moves at a lick and is played with plenty of zest.
The corn is high and the jokes familiar, but who cares when it’s this much fun.
