Probably the strongest 8/10 I've ever given out! Ready or Not is amazing all the way through giving me everything I wanted and expected with a whole lot more.
The insane plot is carried so well that the pacing was brilliant. I was engaged in every scene and it got all the emotions out of me... It was thrilling, some parts were so shocking I sat there opened mouthed for a while and it even had some funny chunks of humour thrown into the mix.
Samara Weaving owned the screen. As far as horror protagonists go, she's up there with the best. Seeing her react to the situation at hand is so good because she doesn't just panic, she adapts to survive and I loved that. She also had a great sense of humour through it all - really a character to get behind.
I'm also always a sucker for a film set in a big old house so it had that going for it too. The house was great, the location really worked for the story and it had such a great feel. Each room is filled with old furnishings and paintings and I love all that stuff.
This film begs to be rewatched and I can't wait to watch it again. Everything is here to make it a classic and I'm sure it will only get better with age.
