Nonbinary pop-art Pinocchio fueled by postmodern Broadway bops. Gary Baseman's designs and the primary-slathered animation pop gorgeously (especially the hand-painted canvas backgrounds), with characters shapeshifting and bouncing around off-model on some kinda pre-K Plympton shit. Considering its confounding status as a major Disney release, Teacher's Pet is a minor gem deserving of reassessment.
