Tenet

Tenet

I love Christopher Nolan, many of his films in the past ten years have made it to my number one slot for films that year. I'm sorry, but this is a stone cold turkey. In fact, the more and more I think about it, the more I dislike it.

I'm not bringing any new criticism but the entire script of this film is exposition. There is no interest, no emotion, no humour, no plot, it is literally people standing there on screen explaining what they are going to do and what is happening. Despite all of this, for vast swathes of the film I had little idea of what was going on. Added to this the dialogue, is practically inaudible for huge portions of the film as well. If you thought Bane and the DKR Rises soundtrack was bad, you wait till you see this, you need subtitles, even when two people are just sat in a room talking (exposition obvs).

Washington is woefully miscast, this is the first thing I've seen him in but here he seems lost. I mean, God help him with this script but nothing he does seems to emote anything.

It's terrible, I really didn't like 'Interstellar' but this makes that look like 'Citizen Kane', a real misstep for me, I very much doubt I'd ever give it a second viewing.
