    The Conformist

Director Bertolucci and Cinematographer Storraro have created a masterpiece of form by using light, mix elements of film noir, haunting surrealism, character positioning and by adapting the dark poetry Of politics.. It is a story about repression and oppression, childhood trauma, remorse, torn love story, about nationality and mature analysis of fascist ideology.. It should be always remembered for its influential visual brilliance and complex narrative artistry...
Simply one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen with a strong, interesting and moving storyline and character arc...
