PUNQ’s review published on Letterboxd:
Since the there was no longer any Wheeler & Woolsey after the death of Robert Woolsey in 1938, there was an opening for 'zany comic duo' on the market. And like Wheeler & Woolsey they started as comic relief in 'somebody else's' movie, before they'd be the center of attention in their own Abbott & Costello franchise. In a silly comedy filled with mid-level actors, Bud Abbott & Lou Costello can't help but steal the show in their screen debut!
Weird to think that in a mushy throwaway rom-com like this Abbott & Costello delivers the first filmed version of their world famous sketch..... "Who's On First....?". A version of word play coincidentally Wheeler & Woolsey had done 10 years earlier.
